I love that you said, “Automatic elevators” as though it’s a new concept. One that we now take for granted. Roll on the auto driving car!! Got a quesion though. What happens if a bird craps on the lidar? Also, could you do a video on why although electricity is slower than light we can use electrical sensors to measure light’s speed? That has always intrigued me 🙂

But we can’t dismiss these ethical questions because they are unlikely. Because we have traditionally left these decisions up to human free will. However, a program will do exactly what it has been told to do, so someone needs to make that decision. I am very excited about driverless cars but when they are eventually common on the roads, these hypothetical scenarios will become a reality. And it will be of potential legal interest too. Therefore I think we should focus on being ahead of the curve here. Adopting a new technology and being cautious about its implications are not in any way in conflict.

These cars are lawyers wet dreams! Imagine the HUGE liability to be now absorbed by the manufacturers. And who is going to absorb that cost?? The buyers (unless they are subsidized, which then will make it the taxpayers; buyers or not). Also, the danger imposed by these “drivers” who after being accustomed to NOT driving while driving a car, get into a non-self-driving car and forget that it won’t drive itself! 😱☠️☠️
Horrible idea!!

Sad to see someone who had built up a lot of trust and respect just toss it away for an ad fee.
